I need some help answering a question...
What is the most hazardous task performed by EMS to a critical medical incident?

Second that. Especially in bad weather or heat.

In hot weather drivers crank up the windows and air conditioning, then turn up the music or phone to hear it over the A/C and road noise. Ditto heaters in cold winters, plus ice. Never disparage a good ambulance driver.
 
ALso two definitions of danger: potential and statistical.

POTENTIALLY one could be struck by a car while working near a road, or catch HIV, or be assaulted and battered by a patient or bystander.
Statistically: back injuries, motor vehicle accidents, colds and flu, minor owies, food poisoning at the station's kitchenette.
 
That would be lifting driving emergency traffic and working on the side of a busy road.
 
Or, how about being struck by an ambulance? Emergency vehicles of various types are also known to collide if dispatched from different systems and cannot hear each other with the sirens blasting. I really don't mean to pick on California but that state just keeps the headlines coming.

May 25--A Sheriff's Department search and rescue volunteer was killed at the Oceano Dunes Sunday when he was apparently struck by an ambulance responding to the same first-aid call, authorities said.

Just after 4 p.m., the volunteer was riding a four-wheel-drive all-terrain vehicle, used to patrol and assist State Parks rangers at the popular tourist destination, the department said.
