What is Legal Recognition? I have a current NC EMT-B Cert along with an NREMT and SC EMT-Intermediate/85 cert. im confused as to how it works and can i use it to recertify my NC Basic cert? I currently have very little CE Hours for my NC since ive been working with a SC agency for so long. Please help.

You already have legal recognition by possessing an NC EMT-B card.

As for con ed, your hour from classes in SC are fine. I use Con Ed from classes I've taken in other States every year!

You need documentation that you've done the continuing education and submit it all to the State around 6 months before expiration. Since you are not working for an NC agency, this will be a bit harder to do.

Probably the simplest way is to take an approved Refresher Course from a community college (most offer it online) which includes a technical scope of practice. The course director can then submit your paperwork for re-certification.
