My son and I were in an accident tonight.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

I was in a left turn lane, approaching an intersection when this car pulled out of a parking lot, across two lanes of traffic, and right into me. When I finally saw him, I tried to stop, but couldn't and we were hit right behing the passenger side front wheel.

Traffic was backed up at the light, and someone in the first lane had stopped to let the car through. A car in the second lane also stopped to let the car through. Instead of going slowly and looking to see if my lane was clear, the kid just tried to pull right into it.

To top it all off, it really was a kid. He was with his dad, and was driving on a learner's permit that was expired. He bounced off of my car and ended up wedged inbetween me and the Caddy that was in the lane next to me.

The cop that showed up was really nice. He talked to Colt for a couple minutes and let him check out his car. Between the accident and the police car, that is all the boy talked about the rest of the evening.

As nice as I like to be, I'm not a fan of stopping and letting people cut through multiple lanes of traffic. I've seen it go wrong far too many times.

As a permit driver I gotta say accidents are terrifying!!! I havn't been in one yet but almost in 2....neither would have been my fault but man it scared the begesers out of me!!!!!
