So I have an interview set up this Thursday.

Should i know anything before i go.

What are these usually like?

What questions should i ask?

Thanks guys!

It's tough to generalize about interviews, but you should probably be prepared to talk about some things that make you special, i.e. why this school should accept you instead of another candidate. Also think about difficult situations you've handled well and things you've accomplished in or outside of EMS. Think of a few questions to ask about the program that aren't stated in the brochure or web site, too.

Most instructors I know want students who (1) will do what they're told; (2) won't embarrass the school; (3) will pass the course; (4) will play nicely with others. Candidates who are perceived as "high maintenance" often don't get invited back.

Go in with your strengths, but don't plan to list your accomplishments and how great you are due to background and training. Just tell them your strengths...

Also, be prepared to tell them your weaknesses and where you would like to be able to improve and how you think this job will make you a better EMT. I mean, don't mention your chronic need to masturbate or something like that but be honest. With me, my weakness is in efficient leadership. I am a great team player, but I struggle letting others solve problems when I have a solution. This shows that you know your weaknesses, and can overcome them.

But, I could be way off and my tactics could get you laughed out of the room.

Be real, be yourself.

Don't wear your "I'm with stupid" shirt and take a shower first :)

So what if they ASK about it? What should he say?
