No matter how interesting what that FF who is at your back doors is saying, NOTHING....and I mean NOTHING can be more important that actually looking at the guy you are bagging.

Looking over at that FF while bagging our code yesterday, gave me quite the nasty little vomit bath.

And all I could say was....

"MAN! He had Enchilladas....and Tequilla for lunch. GOD I hate Enchilladas!"

had one case of food poisoning to deal with my last run before I left SC, had the guy puking all over the back..ad I was right along with him

I dont do vomit.....but breaks...hemmorages...it doesnt matter...even the guy we had with tb spewing blood everywhere...doesnt bother me... JUST puking

I had an EMT look away while bagging a patient... and the bag came off the tube and they were bagging the air... luckily I looked up to see why the chest stopped rising and I noticed the tube was kinda lonely...

Whoops! Maybe that is why we just got the new SpO2 monitors with the ETCO2 detectors on them...so we can HEAR when the FF/student/newbie ends up bagging the air instead of the pt!

The most awkward call I've had by far was when I had to hold c-spine on a pt. sitting on the floor. He was bleeding all over me, no big deal. But then he started to complain of feeling sick, so we handed him a bio bag to puke in. I had to stand right above him as he puked. I don't think I've ever been more disgusted, especially because he'd been drinking some apparently foul smelling liquor. :blink:
