LA Area EMT...

Hi, I'm new here, i'm 19, I work for a private ambulance in LA County and have done so for 9 months. I am making good money, however I would love to work for a 9-11 company... I just took entrance exams to medic school however if I don't get in, I want to switch jobs. I live in northern LA county and I'm looking for suggestions for companies. They can be in LA county of not... Thanks for the help...

P.S. I have worked for LACoFD, as a volunteer FF, so I do have practice in the Emergency field.

So what exactly are you asking?

are you looking for a referral, a list of companies, suggestions?

There are only a few private companies that do 911 work in Los Angeles County. None of them pay well unless you consider starting at under 10 dollars per hour good pay.

Try AMR, McCormack, Schaeffer, for starters, I'm sure that someone will chime in with some more.

No man, I know about those companies... I was looking for more outside of LACo. I live in the north LA Co. so I was looking for something maybe north...

Are you looking at more of Kern County???
