I was wondering if anyone knows much about AMR, just the details as in pay range (im sure it is different throughout the us), work schedule, what city's they do 911 in, if they are a good company to work for. Just if you can tell me anything about them that would be great. They are so big, It's hard to find stuff of them like company wise, seems like every region of the US rules are different and systems are different. I'm looking to move and find a decent company to work for, but I also have to make Decent money for me to move from where I am now. Please Help Thanks

Each of your first questions are unanswerable unless you ask someone at your specific branch you're applying for.

Example-- I do IFT in Dallas. An EMT-B, who does 911 in Arlington (litterally the city connected to Dallas) makes $1.50 more an hour than I do, and I'm a Paramedic.

Same with shifts. We have 8 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour shifts (with some 16s sprinkled in). At my branch, ALS trucks generally do 12 hour shifts. CCT are the ones that do 24.

I'm content with AMR. Every company has their perks and downsides. I have NO intention at still doing IFT a few months from now, but the benefit with AMR is that they are so big, and they have branches all over the US, that (atleast as a Paramedic) you can readily transfer to a place you like for a job you like, and stay with the same company.

They suck in southerrn Cali, as far as pay goes it's not that great, maybe $35K a year.

thanks thats what i wanted to know thanks for getting right to the point
