I had my live scans done last Friday and I'm still waiting for the results. I understand that they do not count weekends for processing, but I'm still curious. How long do they typically take? Doj and Fbi?

It really all depends on how backed up they are. If you catch them during a peak period wait times can vary.

I never got an email response when I did live scan but I got my state license the following day

Typically when I do any Live Scans, unless it's for firearms, the results are returned to the requesting agency within 24 hours, often within the same day. My background is boring enough that this is possible. Firearms backgrounds in California take longer simply because they have to also do a manual check on the (very) off chance that something, somewhere wasn't recorded in various portions of the CLETS databases.
