Hi all, Just discovered this website/forum so here's me.

I am a Police Officer based in London and employed on a specialist unit that is focused upon providing emergency medical response to such issues on our railway network (lots of major trauma and serious illness jobs) *link removed reviously I have been a class 1 Combat Medic (TCCC trained NREMT AEMT equivalent) in the British Army and Volunteer Coastguard Search & Rescue Officer. I currently also do some part time work as ambulance crew for a private ambulance company doing mostly High Dependency Unit Transfers and European Repatriations along with some event medical cover.

Sept 2024 I will be retiring from policing and am currently looking at the possibility of heading over to the good ol' US of A (most likely Texas) to qualify as a an EMT then Paramedic.

As a medic the sort of work I would most like to end up pursuing is Offshore / Remote Installations.

Have been reading through some of the threads and look forward to engaging with you all.

Would specifically like to hear from any Brits that have gone over the pond to work EMS there.

Cheers

Honestly if you're coming here and starting fresh, I'd just go to nursing school. There's significantly more money and opportunities for nurses here than medics, but that is strictly my humble opinion..
