my son just got his graduated from his EMT class an I was hoping you guys could offer some suggestions on a good gift for him? Something that would be useful??

What stethoscope does he have? If he can keep track of it and not lose it, a Littmann Cardiology 3 ($145) will last him through paramedic school and beyond. http://www.amazon.com/3M-Littmann-Cardiology-Stethoscope-Multiple/dp/B0185RL9T0

If the Cardiology is too much to spring for, lots of people like the Classic 2 SE ($70)

A handful of these notepads might be nice:

Maybe throw in some 4-color pens (I find it useful to write medications in blue, allergies in red, etc)

Cigarette lighter car charger for his phone (with 2 ports, so that his partner can use it too), and an aux cable to plug phone into the truck stereo.

Gift cards to Dunkin Donuts / Starbucks / etc.

Extra EMS pants (if company only gives one or 2). Soft thick hiking socks, wool if you are in a cold wet area.

Nice jump bag (duffle bag) for him to carry extra uniform in, along with shacks, etc.

Start a college savings account to help him do Paramedic school in a few years.
