I am thinking about making myself a bit of a first aid kit on steroids for my car.

I don't want to go too overboard... No need to have an entire ambulance full of equipment in my trunk (not that there is anything wrong with that ;)) I am just looking for suggestions for what I should put in it. Links are appreciated... I have a couple medical supply catalogues but a good resource for inexpensive supplies is never something to pass up.

I guess if you have a bag, I would want suggestions as to what you use most out of it. Trauma sheers, vet wrap, 4x4s etc are a must have... as well as some PPE... gloves, eye protection maybe... I am thinking something about half the size of your average "first-in" bag, which has seemed to be pretty standard across the departments I've volunteered for.

Another thing I'd like to consider is this.. I want to make it pink. I mean the bag, everything in the bag, etc... One because I like the color pink, and 2 because then I don't have to worry about anyone else stealing my stuff or mistaking it for department gear.

So... there you have it. A pink first aid bag... Any ideas?

I have a bag in the truck... but it's only for my use. A holdover from having a Jeep and going off for days at a time to the middle of nowhere. And the fact that I'm an avid shooter so I'd rather be ready to take care of myself (carry a firearm when I go offroading since there are some big 4 legged predators out where I tend to go). I'm not a fan of carrying a jump kit for use on random accidents you roll up on.

Indeed. Every time I go hiking (usually alone), I put a few items in my backpack that might help me stay alive should I slip and injure myself. There aren't many (or any) people wandering the wilds in some of the places I go, and sometimes I don't bother with trails.

Other than that, definitely some naloxone and a spineboard.

My FAK is pretty basic for the Jeep. I call it my BooBoo Bag.. friends and family type stuff. band aids, some 4x4's tape.

Check my threads, lots on kits.

Use a camera case, they are much cheaperthan medical cases, and if you shop properly, they have moveable or removeable dividers, are padded and insulated, and can be found on sale. The camcorder size seems best. And ALWAYS buy kits which have the handles attached to the body, not the lid, of the kit.
Especically see the threads about what NOT to carry.

I guess a bit more information might be good.

I live in Alaska.. the booboo bag thing doesn't work, because we do a decent amount of response by PoV directly to an emergency scene, and a lot of what I want it for is that MVA I see when I am out in an area that is a little ways out from the nearest help/has poor cell phone reception. I have enough of a first aid bag for me and mine as it is...

I want something more geared toward the instances when I encounter situations that my help might be crucial in keeping someone stable long enough for a transporting EMS service to arrive.

I made up a small bag to go into each of our POV's.
It just holds 8 sets of gloves, mask w/splash guard, 4x4's, curlex, burn ointment, tape and a roll of gauze.

I must of misread your first post,, the way it sounded you were looking to finance/supply a kit for personal use..
if its for your service,, simple, have your service supply the stuff. alll issued equipment/supplies. no expence for you. i'm sure your squad buys in case lots, and quantity.. cheaper then you can buy ..
