I just wanted some input but I just passed the NREMT and I am applying for Certification for the Santa Clara County, California and I was filling out the EMS Application and it is asking if I have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. I was convicted of a misdemeanor but it was expunged. How would I go about answering this part of the application. I looked online and many people have said I can just say no but I just wanted to be sure.

Best course of action would be to call the office and inquire. Board policy states no legal advice so people may be wary of giving any more advice than that. Good luck either way.

Disclose it. Just because it was expunged does not mean it will not come up on your background check.
