EMT and Paramedic pay in Georgia ?

Sorry for posting this question, but the job postings do I've seen do not show a dollar amount and I've asked a few "schools" and they never replied either with this information.

What can one expect to make and how many hours a week?

Also is this only a stepping stone and can someone have this as their career? It seems most are using it as a stepping stone into medicine. I do not think I want to go quite that far. I am currently a mathematics teacher, but have a desire to try helping people this way.
 
If you are in Atlanta and work for Rural metro or AMR you can make $19.00+ for a brand new medic with a lot of overtime. You can be a fire fighter paramedic in Fulton/Dekalb county and make 50k+ a year.
