I might be a little bit out there with this idea, but that is why I am posting my idea to get some feed back and a bit of a reality check.
This year my swim team which I have long been involved with for a long time is looking to do a big found raiser this year. But they haven't been able to figure out what charity they want to support. I was thinking of supporting some sort of EMS related charity or organization.
There are several ways I was thinking going with this:
1) One possibility was raising money to purchase a used (but in good condition) ambulance for an under-founded VAC. But I am not sure if we could raise that sort of money. Don't get me wrong, I am completely willing to put in the time and effort but I recognize there are limits. One question would a ball park cost be for a used ambulance?
2) Another approach would be donating to a charity that organizes what I was talking about in my first idea.
3) Lastly if we couldn't find a charity to work with, or raise enough money to purchase an ambulance on our own we could work with a general ems charity or VAC to help out with general grounds, training and supplies.
All ideas are welcome!
