So I am going to be in charge of teaching a con-ed class for our department next month. I do the CQI for our department and I thought it would only be fitting if I went over documentation.

So my question to you is. Do any of you guys, in the states, have any good resources that you could share? I have done some searching on the internet and have found a few good power points but they seem a little dated.

Anything you have would be great. Even a link to a website that you have used in the past. Thanks.

Got any lawyer friends? Probably one of the best ways I've ever seen to get folks to fulfill their documentation obligations was to stick them in a mock courtroom and have then defend a call they actually went on a year or two years ago. Make sure they're liberal with the "What do you mean you can't remember? Weren't you supposed to document that?" line.

Then you sit down with everyone and say "Okay, now that you've had a chance to change your shorts, what scared you about how that run was documented? What would you go back and change if you could? What worked for you?". Make sure there's at least an equal number of "good" runs that other folks can learn from, otherwise it looks like a witch hunt.

Oh man, I'd love to get this kind of documentation training. I've yet to be called to testify on a call, but it scares the crap out of me…

Probably one of the best ideas I've seen on here for training ideas.

If I knew a lawyer that would be a great idea. I may look into seeing if one would be willing to help us out though. Thanks for the idea!

That's a really cool idea!
