Hi,

Ive been hearing that there has been an increase of ambulances carrying CPAPs on board.

Can someone please verify if this is true.

Yes, been carrying them for a few years now.

We carry them as well on our trucks.

I've been told that every ambulance in my county has one on board.

us too...our state..RI...decided it would be a BLS skill...

Yes, we carry CPAP on every truck.

Yep, same here...I think there is only one outfit in our area that hasn't put them on their rigs yet.

Not yet but there are rumors of it on the horizon.

Thanks for the feedback.

So if you have a flowmeter attached to an outlet you would need to remove the flowmeter to install the CPAP during an emergency situation?

For ours you need the adapter too, but yes, it plugs directly into the wall socket, not the flowmeter. Every ambulance I've ever been on has an extra wall outlet, removing the necessity of removing the flowmeter. Depends on your setup.

We have them also, had to use it last week . Those masks have giant foam paddings on them :)

The process has been started to get them in our county. Right now the decision-makers are trying to figure out which make/model to use.
