let me preface this by saying my first option for paramedic school is a local university or community college (ie OHSU, Portland Community College, etc.) that offers student loans. However, I realize that these programs can be difficult to get accepted into so I am also planning on applying to the NCTI program (I know, it's a "medic mill" but I have talked with a few medics who went through and said it was pretty good). However, my understanding is NCTI does not offer loans, so I am a little worried about paying for their training. Has anyone had this same problem but found a solution?? Other than a personal loan? I am hoping maybe they are able to work with you a little bit, but I realize that may be asking too much. Last question, does 6 months of EMS experience make one competitive for medic school? Thanks!
