The company I currently work for, as I assume most if not all companies do, had us sign a conflict of interest contract stating that we cannot work a second job with another medical transport agency.
That said, I was wanting to pick up a position as a dispatch so I could get a feel for their side of things. I feel like it would be beneficial for a dispatcher to have road experience, and also beneficial for an EMT to have dispatcher experience. The problem is our company does not allow us to work on the road and in dispatch; only one or the other.
So my question is; if I were to apply as a part time dispatcher at another company would I be in breach of the conflict of interest contract or would i be in the clear since i would not be transporting anyone?
