Just a quick question, i recently lost my pen light and because of that i had to use my really crappy actual pen/light combo. the light on the one I used has a blueish tint to it, but i noticed that it actually highlights the pupil and gives a kind of UV glow to it, making it a lot easier to check responses.

Does anyone know if this type of light is beneficial or detrimental to use? could i keep using it or do you suggest i go out and get another pen light and why?

A LED I presume?

OK for pupils, but not good for assessments involving color. Not comfortable for the pt either.
I have one that actually does do UV light, useful for stuff EMT's aren't going to have a need for.
