Certification name changes

I just recently passed my NREMT test. I have a patch that says national registered emergency medical tech while one of my buddies who took it two years ago says emt basic and cant get one like mine till he takes a transition class. Whats the transition for doesnt EMT and EMT-B do the same thing and took the same class. I hear they still want to change alot of things like cut out intermediate or now advanced emt completely

The AEMT is a replacement for the I-85, while I-99s will be permitted to transition to the new Paramedic standard.

i wasnt too sure whatd you all think of all the name changing and everything going on. Do you all think theyll really take out the intermediate or advanced emt

I know the NR is changing the Intermediate/85 to AEMT however here in Texas our state certification will still say EMT-Intermediate not AEMT. In other words AEMT and Texas Intermediate are the EXACT same thing.
