Anybody have any experience with Cal-Mat?

Not necessarily the FEMA DMAT/etc groups, but the state specific ones.

Is California the only state with their own Medical Assistance Team or do other states have them as well? I am curious. :)

What do they do? How have your experience with them been?

It looks like most places have state specific groups that are part of DMAT... even https://emsa.ca.gov/cal-mat/ says it's "Modeled after the successful federal DMAT program" but ran by CA's EMSA

I think a good answer would be most DMAT teams are FEMA managed to a point, but they aren't the exclusive provider of DMAT services in the US.

They are primarily used for medical tents during a major fire in CA. They were being utilized during the COVID outbreak.

They can be the most disorganized system you’ve ever seen. They run fiefdoms under inept ICs. They don’t play well with others. Some are probably good, but not the ones I’ve dealt with.

Pay is good.

Thought that was a given since we're talking about California here.

The 1 from NC is used at the National and World Boy Scout Jamboree in WV: at least they were in 2013, 2017 and 2019 (World), very helpful.
