Does anyone have a recommendation for a book for cardiac and or meds? We are starting that next semester and I want to get a jump over christmas break.

Cardiac: Dale Dubins "Rapid Interpretation" book

Drugs: I like Brady's pocket drug reference, though I always wanted to get Dr Guy's "Pharmacology for the Prehospital Professional"

thanks all half.com those tonight

High-yield Heart.

Pharm for the Prehosp Professional by Guy

i would definitely use "Pharmacology for the Prehospital Professional" by Guy. I like it much better than Bledsoe's pharm book because its easier for quick reference and comprehend.

There's detailed profiles of the most common drugs, each with full-color images (label). Here's an example of one of the drug profiles... There's alot of a&p coverage too which helps you understand the effects that the drug has on the body.

Dubin's EKG book is not written at a layperson’s level. This book requires some base medical knowledge to use. I would try Aehlert: ECGs Made Easy which is easier to comprehend and it has alot of practice strips and animations.

The previously mentioned "Pharmacology for the Prehospital Professional" by Jeffrey Guy is invaluable. Don't know what I would've done without that book while going through class.
