You do realise an ED patient who is not in monitored is going to get their vitals taken once every half hour or hour and that if they are on a ward like three times a day right?
This nonsense of every 10 minutes is rubbish, if your patient is that crook its going to be pretty bloody obvious when they have some sort of massive haemodynamic degradation or improvement that might warrant another look-see with the various instrumentalia.
Now, if your patient is on the pre hospital thrombolysis then its a good idea for 10 minutely intervals, thrombolysis can cause significant internal bleeding.
