I currently stay in the Central Valley and I am looking for study buddies or a group of people to meet up with and practice skills, tests, ect. My class is full of Fire Academy guys and none of them have to much care in being the best at what they do so I'm trying to set myself apart! Let me know please! Meeting up once or twice a week would be cool. Thanks.

Cali has a central valley? Lol

Also known as the San Joaquin Valley - home to Bakersfield and Fresno.

I still say we need to split the state into 2 and use the bay area aa a border

Interesting,a class full of fire academy guys and not one of them is looking to be the best at what they do. If you have a minute I would love to hear how you came to form such a conclusion. Really I think I know but its such a broad brush you paint with. A whole class of guys looking to get into one of the most competitive fields out there and not even one is looking to be the best. Could it be you have no clue as to what might be motivating these guys.

Possibly only getting their medic to have it. You can't get a fire job without it now.

Used to be a medic cert was your meal ticket into fire it could depending on the size of the department put you in a much more competitive position. Now almost every engine has a medic or two or more and the door has just about shut.

The fire academies spit out FF 1's like other classes spit out basics and medics. But just like EMS the pool is pretty crowded and jobs are hard to come by.

Most departments like EMT for a minimum and some do require you to be a medic.

Sorry it took awhile to reply. Yes fresno has a central valley. And yes I have a class full of BOYS trying to pass the national test so they can be firefighters. Most of the boys are taking the class for a 2nd time because they failed the first 3 tries at the test. They are more concerned (during class time) with having casual conversations while the teacher teaches, coming in late from break because they're to busy smoking pot in their cars, and staring at my boobs. I am 1 of 3 girls in the class, and not to be mean but neither of the other 2 girls are apppealing to the slightest extent so when I ask for help or for a study group, I get asked out on a date, or get hit on in general. Its annoying. I take what I do seriously.

Well... sounds like you can either find a different school, but of course then you'd more than likely have to start over. Switch to a different class that's shortly behind your's, or wear something conservative and for a lack of better words, doesnt provide a good look at your assests. I'd try the third option, see what happens and go from there but that's me. For the record, I'm a male. Just trying to help you out.

First off welcome to the board, didnt notice that was your first post . Thank you for answering my question it was not quite what I expected but it was honest.

Sorry your annoyed as a father of two boys all I can or really want to say is boys will be boys and that aint gonna change. Besides if they truly are how you describe they have a slim to none chance of becoming firemen. Guys getting fire jobs these days are the ones that score 95-100 on written tests, these guys dont seem to fit the mold.

As a father of two girls I know for a fact that girls love being the center of attention and just like with the boys that aint gonna change so try and enjoy it. Now we all know where the line is as far as being respectful and its up to you as a young lady to make sure the boys dont cross it.

As far as the pot smoking its Cali so they probably have medical cards.

You seem to me to be the outgoing type with just enough spunk which actually could serve you well in this field. If you really are serious then study hard and ignore the distractions and hopefully your next class will go better. Try the forums over at allnurses.com its a great site and you may be able to find someone to study with. There are plenty of current and former EMS people on that site.

Thank you for your advice. I'm sorry.if my post originally sounded as if I was being whiney I do understand boys will be boys I guess that's why I'm frustrated. I love my teacher that's why I haven't changed classes and I'm not letting something dumb like annoying boys drive me away from.anything. I believe my teacher sees that I.am different. So I stick.to.being better then everyone else and having the one important person notice that. My teacher does the hiring for a private ems company. But anyways ill have to check that forum out thank you very much for taking the time to.reply to my post I am very new to this forum. Sorry for punctuation errors I'm replying from a mobile device so auto correct tends to take over ha!

Please don't think that I go to class in shorts and a low cut shirt. My boobs aren't even big there's no point. I'm a t shirt and jeans kind of girl I have no need to flaunt anything to a group of boys id never take a second look at.

Hang in there and just ignore the rude comments of some posters.

So there are many schools or coaching center you easily switch there, that's not a big deal, because to find such a group by forum is difficult and by this you wasting your time.
