We are learning the different rhythms in paramedic class right now. My question is what was your method for learning and remembering the rules for the rhythms?

Studying... and practicing reading strips.

Are there p waves? Are they regular? What's the qrs duration? P wave for every qrs? PR interval? So on and so on...

Just gotta work hard and buckle down

Rote memorization. Each rhythm has distinct characteristics.

Flash cards may be a good way to start.

Practice, practice, practice. Read hundreds of strips. Pretty soon it will become second nature.

Develop a step-by-step process that you use every time you read one, instead of trying to jump around. It'll help you stay consistent and less likely to miss things.

This site has plenty of strips to practice with.

+1, great website

I worked my way through various books but I really learned when I got thrown into the fire and had to work my way through hundreds of rhythms a shift.

If you have clinical at a hospital try to set up a shift sitting at the Telemetry monitor station (If they have centralized telemetry). You will see more rhythms in one day they you will see in a month on the ambulance.
