Passed nremt-p, passed jobs new hire requirements and have been released as a paramedic. I am really nervous all day. Slow station, moving to busier station soon for trial by fire. Worked as emt-b for two years no anxiety regarded very high as emt. Was emt FTO. Did well in school. How do I make it as a paramedic? How do you handle the responsibility? How have medics stayed in this field for 5, 10, 15+ years? Where you nervous? Can you eventually support a family? Any advice greatly appreciated.

It takes some time, and experience to gain confidence. Te more confidence you get the more comfortable you will be. It took months before I felt truly comfortable doing ALS as the medic in charge.
