I can't speak about what a SanFran interview is like, but about a month or two ago I interviewed with AMR Hemet (Southern California) and I was hired. Hopefully the tests are similar throughout CA and this'll help you out.
The skills testing should be relatively easy as long as you study your National Registry sheets. They used those for my skills testing and I've heard the same for a lot of other divisions. I had to do CPR, BVM of an apneic patient (Know how to put in your OPA and NPA! I almost blew it when it came to sizing the NPA; I was so nervous.), and a full trauma assessment with c-spine and backboard. It wouldn't surprise me if you had to end up doing a full medical assessment as well, so be prepared for that too. Remember your BSI and take a few deep breathes before you start. All of the people testing your skills want you to pass. You can do it.
Afterwards, they sent me back to the main waiting area. I sat there for about 10 minutes and then they came in and told me it was time for the interview. I've heard that in other places you might get a few people interviewing you, or just one. In my case it was the Medic who did my skills testing and the Administrative Supervisor. They have a sheet with a bunch of normal interview questions. "Tell us about a time where you faced a difficult situation." "Give an example of when you went above and beyond for a customer/patient of yours. What was the outcome?" "Have you ever been in a situation where you didn't get along well with a co-worker? How did you resolve this?" Its just stuff like that. They write it down on the sheet, and send you on your way! In my case, they let me know I did well and that I should be getting a call from them. It took 32 days for them to call me back, even though they said 2 weeks. I did call a few times, but no answer. Regardless, it worked out well for me and I'm sure it will for you.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes. You'll do well, I'm sure of it. Just study up on those skill sheets!
