Ack, no! Not as a primary mechanism. Text messaging is NOT reliable, and is NOT guaranteed delivery: "message sent" means not a whole lot at all, other than your receiving SMSC received the message. Delivery receipt (as an option in your text messaging) is still not a guarantee of delivery, despite the name. There is no prioritization, and it is subject to so many bugs of phone firmware, crappy reception, and the like.
