Does Royal Ambulance run 911 calls?

Actually, in counties like Santa Clara that have private companies who run ALS, you can respond code 3 as long as a doctor is requesting it (for example, out of an urgent care). Generally this only applies to ALS and CCT, not BLS.

Falck - or the 900-pound gorilla no one is aware of

That entire post sounded very vague. Can you better explain what you are talking about? How are they changing the industry? What contracts do they have? What are the "good things" you've heard? Honestly your post just sounded like an advertisement. Also, I heard AMR just got an extension on...

California (Bay Area) and Red Cross CPR card

We had this issue come up when we hired some people a few months back, and per Santa Clara County EMS they are acceptable for accreditation in their county. SCC is pretty strict so I imagine other counties would be the same.

    Hospital Jobs

I am both a patient transporter and an ER Tech at a hospital in Norcal. Don't know about the rest of the country, but I wouldn't even bother applying anywhere until I AT LEAST had my EMT cert. I'm actually a medic, and thats the only reason I got the job. They love people with EMS experience. I...

    EMS Workouts

Oh man, I wish I could still do cardio on my off days. Maybe once i'm more used to the program, but for now i'm usually way too sore/tight to do anything but stretch the day after a crossfit workout.

    EMS Workouts

i've been doing crossfit now for a little over a month, and I love it. It's intense, fast paced and i'm in and out of the gym in no time. This works great with my hectic work schedule. Plus, the workouts are always different so i'm never bored. check it out at www.crossfit.com

    Protransport or Royal?

Don't know about PT-1, but at my company the reason for a high turnover rate is because of a few different reasons; schedule changes for school, advancement to other positions (ER tech, Firefighter, 911) and low pay are just a few reasons. Recently i've seen more and more people just giving up...

    Drug Shortages and Solutions

My employer was telling us that the reason for the drug shortage was companies not producing as much as they used to. He said the drug rep told him due to over regulation it's just not as profitable to make certain drugs anymore. Don't know if this is true. Any thoughts? We are currently low on...

    Paramedics Plus Alameda County

Man another BLS company in AlCO? Also, did you hear that Alameda city fire is starting up their own BLS division to run calls out of Alameda hospital and the surrounding SNF's? That makes like 10 different BLS companies in this county alone
