    The OTHER "carry"

God I LOVE 1911s I have been carrying a Colt gold-cup pre-70 (pretty rare gun, I probably should carry a more easily replaced 1911) in a Don Hume OWB pancake holster, when it gets "warm" again I'll switch to a CTAC IWB holster. I also have my ever present NAA MINI in 22LR.

    Ride Time

I got to bag and do CPR on a cardiac arrest patient during one of my 12 hour ER rotations, it was the coolest thing I had ever done, at the time. now that I have had to do it 3 or 4 times it just isn't as exciting.

    Self protection question

But do you really think that the stats went from 1 in 5 to 1 in 27 in just 4 years? Also, if you use a source that is also trying to sell you something, you need to take the statistics with a grain of salt.

    Self protection question

    http://www.policeone.com/news/1694515-FBI-releases-preliminary-statistics-for-officers-killed-in-2007 1 out of 27 =/= 1 out of 5

    Self protection question

1 in 5? I am going to call bovine scat. The FBI puts the number closer to 1 in 28, in other words 2 cops where murdered with there own gun in 2007. To put this in perspective, 4 were murdered with there own car in the same time period.

Does a patient have the right to refuse?

As long as they are not mentally altered or a minor they have a right to refuse care.

    Self protection question

Let me add that I would only use deadly force when met with deadly force. I expected these types of responses but still feel I have a valid opinion (no matter how right or wrong) Also my state has a "castle doctorate" which extends to your place of work (I.E. the ambulance) and protects me from...

    Self protection question

First of all I expect that I will be attacked for what I am about to write but... I carry the most effective weapon the state or city will allow me, yes I have and continue to carry a concealed hand gun (I have a CCW), pepper spray and knives to many scenes with cops on scene also...

    Self Defense for EMS

I am shocked how many of you would just let a patient attack you and not be prepared to keep yourself alive. being in the moral right and dead is still dead. some of you need to take a step back and look at you and your partners safety. If you value the life of a druggie wacked out of there mind...

    Work Place Danger

Yeah, I was in the 'stan (a little safer than Iraq) at the start of OEF, the occupational hazards here (state side) are nothing.

    Would You Tell

My understanding is that wearing 2 pairs of gloves doee not cause failure like umm, wearing 2 "protective devices" as the activity done while wearing gloves is not as vigorus, so the friction doesn't brake the gloves down like it would a condom.

what Knife do you carry on duty?

what Knife do you carry on duty?

well I already carry a knife with a point (A benchmade 555BLU) so at the cost of being "over prepared" I was going to carry both. Sadam I have one in a hard sheath on my dog tags.

what Knife do you carry on duty?

[Totally unrelated to EMS] - AR-15 quirk

Is the sear face smooth as glass like it should be? I would take it to a COMPETENT gun smith and have the sear face matched up. (the resson you need a COMPETENT gun smith is that if it is done wrong it will fire uncontrollably)
