Does anyone have tips for taking the NREMT?

Yep, I did pass, the first time. It stopped at around question 75. I, as most, was worried that I didn't pass.

Does anyone have tips for taking the NREMT?

As far as the EMT-B written test goes, when I took it 2 weeks ago...The test mainly consisted of scenarios. I think the biggest help to me was the 9th edition of Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured...by AAOS. At the end of the chapters it has Scenario's written out...

Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

Upper 70's. Passed! I haven't gotten the written letter yet, so hopefully that will tell me exactly how many questions I had. I was so preoccupied on remembering the last question that I didn't pay much attention to the # of questions. I know it was in the upper 70s. I thought I had a...

Yet another "I just took the NREMT-B test" thread?

Well, I was pleasantly surprised. I passed!!! I'm still not crazy about the way the questions were worded...but I guess...when I had to assume, I assumed correct. I tried to keep my actions (for the scenarios in the questions) as basic as possible. Guess that was the right thing to...

Yet another "I just took the NREMT-B test" thread?

Thanks Roxy, I know I'm doing just what everyone else does. Still checking the NREMT site every 10 minutes. :-) It would have helped if I had a definite answer to the last question! Nothing I can do about it now. :-) So should I check Monday so I have the weekend to only stress about...

Post the # your test stopped at, and if you Passed/Failed

Just for information purposes...A "Fun Facts" Thread"! Would everyone post the number of questions you answered before the test stopped. And post if you passed or failed. It would be interesting to see, how many answered 70'ish and if they passed or failed. And how many answered...

Sources vary for Normal Vital Stats.

Well, I took the test. Haven't found out the results yet. I sure don't feel good about it. (It stopped around 80) Too many open ended questions for me. As for the vitals...The ones they used in their scenarios were pretty obviously high or low. So to others who are taking the test...pick...

Yet another "I just took the NREMT-B test" thread?

Well, I definitely over studied! I had a pre-test programs I bought on the internet...that had some unbelievably hard/in depth questions. I did fairly well on all sections. But I could have easily done without it. My primary study book was AAOS Emergency Care and Transportation of the...

Sources vary for Normal Vital Stats.

Thanks for the help! Most charts are close...I would hope.that if a questions gave a rate....and it was boarder line because of a couple charts...it still shouldn't impact the result of the actions that should be taken. Guess I'll find out...testing soon!

Having Trouble Passing NREMT-B - Suggestions?

What study guides are you talking about throwing in the trash Erin? On line study guides? Workbooks that come with the classroom books? On line pre-tests?

Sources vary for Normal Vital Stats.

Is there a web site..or a source that I can find a more definitive answer to the correct VITAL STATISTICS. (For taking the NR test) I have several conflicting sources. I tried going on the AHA website but didn't find what I was looking for. Some sources just give vitals for Newborns...

Having Trouble Passing NREMT-B - Suggestions?

Was it that you weren't sure of the steps to take for the given scenario? Or were there certain facts about the scenarios that you didn't know about (haven't heard of before) or didn't know how to handle?

    Artherosclerosis vs Arteriosclerosis

I came across a couple test questions that asked about what defines each. I get conflicting answers. (well conflicting from what I thought I knew) Here's the latest question I came across... Atherosclerosis causes which of the following: 2 of the answers were totally obviously wrong...

How would you answer this one.....

Is the answer out of sequence? I've been getting practice questions where the answer seems to be out of sequence with what the 'normal' steps/procedures specify. (I know each 'call' is different, depending on the circumstance) Here's the latest question I have come across: 42 y/o man...

    NR Test ... sources?

From what I am gathering....Books like Brady or AAOS, are good for basic knowledge but may not be enough to pass the NR test. The practice tests I have purchased, have much more "in depth' questions. In going over the tests...I go back to my text books as references...but I find I need to...

Does anyone have tips for taking the NREMT?

Baggy... You said the 2 sources weren't a good representation of what was on the NR test. Could you explain that?... Were your study sources too easy and not in depth enough? Different kind of questions?... Which Study Guide did you complete? I have the AAOS book and study guide. I...

NREMT test and AHA new 2005 changes.

Does the NREMT test reflect the new changes in AHA.....such as the 30/2 CPR (except for 2 person CPR on child and infants).... 1 min CPR (without checking for pulse) in between AED Shocks (not a stack of 3 consecutive shocks)....giving a breath over a 1 second period instead of 2 seconds...

Problems while taking the National Registry

Test results... After the test you are to find your results on a web site. What does the web site say, besides you passed or failed. Does it tell you where your weak points or strong points were? Just wondering why, when people post that the have past or failed, they don't post what...

    Sample Questions

Definitely go over the "stem-key" type test! Most questions I have come across are similar to the type of questions you have posted. 2 obviously wrong..and 2 to pick from. Seems to be a "key word" in the question that will designate which answer is correct. --------------- Here's an 'ok'...
