In my off time, I coach a local high school trap shooting team. Last spring, we had the annual fun shoot. My son shoots on the team, and we decided to have a friendly competition. One of the parents was taking pictures of everything, and here I am in action.

Just built this one for my daughter. 16" .300 AAC Blackout. She wanted her own rifle for hunting deer with me, but she wanted it to be "special". She picked out the color to add to it.
During the warmer months, I find getting out on my sailboat is the best coping mechanism I have at my disposal. During the colder months...if any hunting season is open, I get out and do that. It gets me outdoors and when I am out there, my mind is free to absorb all that nature has to offer...
Epic Frequent flyer.....
She is comprising a majority of our calls this month.
Same person...same address. Every time we get a hip/leg pain call from her, she meets us at the door and walks herself to the ambulance, climbs in, lays down on the stretcher and holds her arm out for the bp...

I said this at this year's Cinco de Mayo party, when asked that same question.

Responded to a domestic situation...husband beat up the wife and left.
Seems they had been drinking heavily.
Long story short, she was hitting on me while I was assessing her...she even tried to kiss me in the ambulance. My medic was doing his best to keep from laughing his *** off.
41 when I became an EMT
Similar situation...good office job, but felt I had more to offer.
Took the course at night....while working 50-55 hrs/week during the day. 45 minute commute to school....made for one burned out person by the end.
Worth it? I'd like to think so.
I have a basic FA kit in my van. Band aids, tape, gauze and ointments. These are for family use mostly.
I have EMT plates mostly because it lets me park in the "emergency employee" parking slots at the station when I am on duty.
I have helped out on 3 different scenarios....one was a head on...
After further review.... I have decided to keep my license. I completed my refresher, and am good for another two years.
The spondylolisthesis that I am currently suffering is being held in check with a combination core strengthening and massive physical therapy.

The memories of a man in his old age
Are the deeds of a man in his prime.
You shuffle in gloom of the sickroom
And talk to yourself as you die.
Life is a short, warm moment
And death is a long cold rest.
You get your chance to try in the twinkling of an eye:
Eighty years, with luck, or...
