    Pro Transport in bay area

At least every six months they change their hiring process. When I did it, it was a 50 question test and a simple interview.

    Patients Plus - Alameda County

How is the field training at PT+? All new people should have IFT experience, so is it just learning a new system?

    Patients Plus - Alameda County

Do you know going into it if you'll be staffing a BLS rig or the MHT unit? I imagine if you're doing MHT they will mention it in the interview.

    Patients Plus - Alameda County

Sorry to bring back a dead thread, ladies and gents. I got a call this afternoon with the recruiter explaining how the process would go (possibly spoiling the skill, too) and said to bring workout clothes. Hopefully all of you who posted before got hired and are enjoying it.

Funny one liners you've said to overheard to a patient

I had a first-on-scene where a nursing home patient fell out of a wheelchair. When a nurse asked how he fell, the medic simply replied, "I think it was by gravity."

    A&O status questions

Hello all! Some of my coworkers were discussing what questions are appropriate to ask to determine if a pt is alert and oriented. Everyone has their preference and try steering away from certain questions, such as "who's the president?" Does anyone have any specific questions they ask? Thanks!

    Pro transport 1 bay area

Hello. Hope I'm not getting to you too late. When I went through, I was interviewed by a manager and a supervisor. The questions are actually mostly customer service based, with a few medical questions. There's also the typical " why do you want to be an EMT, why do you want to work for us."...

Falck - or the 900-pound gorilla no one is aware of

Apologies in advance if I've missed any details, but does anyone have any word on Falck Contra Costa? I put in my app earlier this week and I imagine it'll be awhile before I hear back.

is this a good idea to get hired?

The company I just got hired with doesn't do in-person applications or phone calls, but it's still a good idea to go to the main station and ask for one. Bring a copy of your resumé and look semi-professional just in case you run into a supervisor.

    Stethoscopes

So it finally happened..my stethoscope that I've been using since EMT school grew legs and vanished. It even had my name and number on it. Oh well. Does anybody have any recommendations for a new scope? Also what's a good way to go about cleaning said scope? Thanks.

    Callbacks?

So today I applied to a few companies throughout the Bay Area, more specifically ProTransport 1, Verihealth, Falcon Ambulance, and Paramedics Plus. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea if I can expect a call sometime soon after the first of the year? I don't imagine getting hired amidst...

Is a poor driving record an EMS career death sentence?

If I may chime in, I have an accident on my record that I wasn't at fault for, and it occured two years ago. Is that something to worry about?

Pro Transport 1 'On Call/Part Time' positions

Further to that, the job listing says "must be available 24-7, no exceptions." Do they factor in school or a second job? Could that affect getting a job?
