    working out/hitting the mills

Wingnut, cardio is okay to do every day, but you shouldn't strength train every day, at least not the same muscle groups. Your body needs time to rebuild and repair the damage you cause from strength training. I don't know how much you know, so sorry if this is old hat. When you lift weights...

    working out/hitting the mills

I have to workout to maintain my weight. My metabolism is very slow, so exercise keeps it in high gear. I also have to be very religious about what I eat, although I can let it slide a little when I'm working out every day. I do yoga because of my back pain and stress, running is also...

    working out/hitting the mills

I run 5 days a week, strength train 3 days a week, and right now I ski all day two days a week. Once spring hits, I'll probably be running 6 to 7 days a week. I also take a 40 to 60 minute hike 5 days a week and try to do yoga 5 days a week as well.

    Spider straps or Quick Clips?

Yes, Jon, I've been a ski patroller for 15 years. Actually, our EMS rigs use webbing as well. emtbuff you are correct. My webbing is two pieces, different colors (that will also be distinguishable under the amber night skiing lights), either tied in the middle or have a fastex clip in the...

    Questions...and a little Rant....

What State are you from? West Virginia What’s your favorite color? Purple, this week If you could tell me one thing that you know now that would help me what would it be? Just because someone is having classic MI symptoms, doesn't mean they're having the "big one" What...

    Resume template?

I read and write a lot of resumes, so anything remotely relevant to your job objective is worth adding to your resume. You may have a skill that is not primarily what your employer may be looking for, but it may put you ahead of someone without that skill (e.g. hazmat ops). If you'd like me...

    Another new guy

Welcome welcome! I understand about ruralness. I don't know how many EMS calls we ran, but my fire first due ran 60 calls last year. Hard to keep the skills honed with that few. Glad to have you!

Well... I'm legit in Ohio now :)

Wow, ladies. My thoughts with both of you. Wingnut - wishing you a speedy recovery and that things get out of where they aren't supposed to be. :) Toledo - bummer about your car and I don't like dentists either! I was supposed to go yesterday, but the dentist got sick. Darn. I have to...
