and??? Rural communities have longer response times... this isn't exactly breaking news. Lower population densities, increase response distances, lower number of resources compared to their urban counterparts... and a significantly lower funding source due to a significantly smaller tax base compared to a city.
EMS is a LOCAL issue; local funding provides local services to local taxpayers... You can't expect urban response times in rural areas, at least not without funding it to the level it needs to handle the response time you are expecting... If anything, the local taxpayers should be seeking more transparency from the mayors and town councils (or county leaders for unincorporated areas) and asking what they are going to do to reduce EMS response times.
