I live in anaheim and plan on going to santa ana college to take my basic emt. from what ive been hearing is that it takes forever to get into a fire department. any truth to that?? what is the basic process to get hired on with a fire department?? im use to going through background, polygraphs...

hey everyone Im thinking about becomng an emt. I have been a correctional deputy for two years in az and everyone in cali is on a hiring freeze, so thinking about the medical field.

im going to take my emt basic classes in the fall, anyother classes i should take???

So I can work for a private company or a fire department as Emt? If i going to do this im going to make it my career. what classes are involved to get my medic?
