People can laugh all they want at my uniform, I don't care. I am proud of the education I am getting and I have confidence in my instructors and the program I am attending...
Probably not, but no one told some of the people in my class that.
Not really following you there, must be b/c I have an associates degree from a CC. J/K
The college I am at now actually offers numerous bachelors programs now, including one in the public safety area for those who want to...
I understand what you mean. As a new student, I am just trying to learn. It will be interesting to see what types of opinions I form as I go along. I am not yet sure if I am going to pursue first responder career or an EMS career. Right now, I am leaning EMS b/c I think there are many different...
In the program I am in I will have the associates degree once I complete the paramedic school (and EMT-B, obviously) and 2 anatomy and physiology classes(along with the general ed requirements; chemistry, biology, math, english comp., etc.).
So after I complete this I would be eligible for...
I think it is different if you are in medical school or even a bachelor's program. I should have specified that I am referring to an EMT-B program like the one I am in. It only lasts one semester and some of these "kids" probably plan to go to fire academy or get a job in EMS.

I have seen numerous jabs taken at the...
The fact that I have had to spend more money on the uniform does not make me happy. Other than that, I personally think it is a good idea to have uniforms. But I can certainly understand those of you who don't want to wear them.
I am a current student...
and we are required to wear the uniform pants, black footwear and a golf style shirt designating us as students. The shirts for basics are a different color than those of the paramedic students.
We are required to wear a t-shirt with the same pants and footwear for...
Thank you for the information. I will be voting no as well. I have read up on the issue and it just doesn't make sense for me. I think I might end up saving a minimal amount of money on my property taxes and run the risk of hurting valuable services in the community, not just EMS/Fire.
You...
I am starting class this week for EMT-b. I live close to two counties where they are county run EMS, I believe they are referred to as third service?
Anyhow, my question is about hiring in these departments and if any of you have any recent experience in the state of Florida getting a county...
