    Kentucky EMTs

I am hearing that there are going to be some changes with regard to EMT-Bs in Kentucky. Something along the lines of getting rid of the EMT-B and replacing it with EMT-Advanced something or another. Today, Google is not my friend. Does anybody have any info regarding this change?

    No more death penalty....

No I get it just fine, buddy. You will have to forgive me as I may not have been clear. The reference to the ’not-so-godly’ is actually a reference to the State and its agents. It is clear the state is supreme and offenses against it are held in higher regard than are others. I just choose to...

    No more death penalty....

Well why didn’t you say so? Sorry Mr. Auto-mechanic and UPS delivery driver, though you wear a uniform and are a valuable and productive member of society, if someone kills you, we are going to punish them less. You see what our uniform indicates is that we are a more valuable societal asset...

    No more death penalty....

 You still elevate the worth of the “uniformed” person above that of one of the lowly, less heroic and not-so-godly, commoner types. That’s crap.

[April Fools] EMTLife's Newest Community Leader: MMiz!

 Well I have to admit that I went on a 3 day celebratory drinking binge in celebration of my new status, which is why I am responding so late! But now I am finally sober and in addition to the migraine, I find I have been the BUTT of someone's April fool's day joke! Now I am depressed...

    No more death penalty....

You mean an EMT is no more important than John Q. Citizen? We should be glad about this. I mean, I disdain this idea of one life being worth more than another. I think it is arrogant.

    Newbie

I am in the same boat too and am interested in following up on this. I really want to become a Paramedic. In no way do I want to stay at the EMT-B level. The question for me is one of responsibility. Is it somewhat irresponsible to be so advanced while yet so inexperienced?

Where I spent my morning (not EMS related)

Those are my old stomping grounds. The lake is the only thing I really miss about Ohio. And Cedar Point is amazing. Had season passes for years and went at least once a week on my summer breaks. Then I grew up and it ruined everything.

    Personal Protection

I have not yet fleshed out my thinking on this matter. However, I am in general agreement that I would rather lose my job and my license because I violated company policy than get killed by some idiot patient. I can always get another job. Another life on the other hand.... I guess the key...

    Canada, Eh?

I have a strong desire to move to the Northwest Territory of Canada. I love it. I love the cold, the darkness, the northern lights, etc. I hate the bugs, though, but I guess it is a good thing that summer only lasts a couple of months or so before the big freeze settles in. ^_^ I will become an...
