I just meant that even as a 3rd person driver you still need a certification from the state. I don't really see any volunteer agency taking someone on as just a driver that doesn't have an EMS or Fire card.

I guess how well you think they pay depends on where you are coming from. My department just lost 3 EMS people within the last 6 months; 1 to SC and 2 to NC. They definitely went for pay increases.
Around these parts (NE Ohio) pay is about $8-10/hr for EMT and $10-12/hr for medics. :blink:
+1 for the Zebra F701. Awesome pen for <$10.
But I prefer to carry cheap Zebra Z Grips (about $8 a dozen) on the squad. Even though the F701 isn't that expensive I don't want to lose it at the rate I lose regular pens.
