    Advice: comfortable EMS pants

Hey, no need to be rude. I've been a paramedic in 911 for a long time too, it's not my first rodeo. They do make lighter pants, I've had them before when I did 911. Just can't find them right now. They also make low cut shoes that look like boots and have steel toe. Same protection, more...

    Advice: comfortable EMS pants

yeah that's what I meant. One of them I ordered felt okay but the size was off. Maybe the exchange will be better. I just want that light cotton fiber feel. I guess I'm picky lol

    Advice: comfortable EMS pants

You sir, are a genius. maybe cotton would be better too. The material just feels so thick and starchy on these.

    Advice: comfortable EMS pants

I'm back into the EMS field as a CCTRN. I can't seem to find any EMS pants that don't suck. They all feel like thick canvas and I just want something lightweight like scrubs or nylon hiking pants. I really can't stand it. Then either they are too baggy with a million pockets or fit like skinny...

Funny one liners you've said to overheard to a patient

It was a lift assist only (because we are nice and sometimes cancel the fire engines to help old people off the floor) Lady fell off the toilet and there was a perfectly round ball of feces on the floor. My driver says (without thinking) "please tell me thats a chocolate ball" Another...

things you will never live down

Everytime we get a call and dispatch advises the patient has nausea one of my usual drivers makes a gesture of drawing up meds in a syringe because I give Zofran out likes its candy and nobody else in my service uses it. Not that you guys give a sh*t haha

    90yof - csf?

That is something I believe needs medical evaluation. It may be less serious but it could also be something bad, especially with the pupils the way they are. After reading the diagnosis, thats what I would have figured but still it is good to always think of the worst case scenario.

    Question about a critical Ped

Good job. Epi was most important IMHO. I probably would have used BVM personally but I think the epi was the main treatment that needed to be done. It saved her.

    Glide Scope

I just had a failed intubation with the Glidescope. My partner had success. I saw the cords fine, but I couldnt not get the tube in. everytime it deflected off of the epiglottis and went down into to esophagus. I couldn't maneuever it upwards. I think I know what I did wrong. I think I wasn't...

    EMS Carrying Firearms

still I am not talking about arming EMS or using guns in an official way. I only speak of not making people who carry guns every day take them off just to ride the medic. This isn't about giving EMS guns, its allowing the people who usually excersize their 2nd amendment right to not be forced to...

    EMS Carrying Firearms

I wasn't saying EMS should be law enforcement. Some people carry guns every day everywhere they go and would probably not want to disarm themselves. It isn't to be able to do more things, but to simply keep one basic ability of self-defense on you at all times. Gun courage could be a valid point...

    Nasal intubation skill

Does anyone have some tips on actually being good at nasal intubation? I mean I know the basics of using the BAAM and whatnot but is it really all just blind luck most of the time? I've been finding it hard to do lately and in this state that doesn't let us do RSI its sometimes the only alternative.

    EMS Carrying Firearms

Sorry. I searched it and found only things about patients with concealed carry permits.
