Why waste the time getting those extra certs as a basic when you could just put that time, money and effort into a medic license.

I would go for the Business Administration degree personally. You could always apply it to some other job or field if for whatever reason you had to.

So is it pretty tough to get hired as a flight medic? ( education aside). I hear stories from people at work that they are looking for 5+ years experience at a busy service,top of your class, and that you must be under a certain height and weight. Any truth in that?

Agreed. Around here, St. Louis county pays very well, but farther away from the city you go the less and less you make. And the cheaper and cheaper it is to live. Moral of the story is to live where its cheap and land a job where the $$ is.

I was also interested in the whole "tactical medic" thing. So are you guys basically saying these positions (like on SWAT teams) are usually a law enforcement people who get trained as a medic?
