Are you sure this wasn't a runaway pacemaker? I have seen this exact situation, including the fact that the patient felt better and looked at me funny when I seemed concerned. It wasn't until I really looked closely on a printout that I saw the pacer spikes.

I just took the exam this morning for recertification. It was a very similar experience to the initial exam (same place, same building, same format, same staff, similar questions). I would MUCH rather go through a short exam than have to log all my CEUs.

I think that nails it on the head. You have a masters degree, and the additional coursework beyond the paramedic certification is, at most institutions, not really directed towards making you that much of a better paramedic. I think this is especially true if you have taken general level...

Looks like you have 6 months to find a job as a basic... you just have to be actively using it at the time of recertification (it does not have to be for 6 months unless you are no longer employed or are applying for inactive).

Are you sure you are not thinking of ASU? Arizona, unless recently implemented, does not have a Student EMS program. TFD / Southwest is responsible for medical issues on campus.

They also have a solid fast paced medic program at UA/UMC. Worth looking in to, and it made doing both at he same time much easier.
