Know what to listen for As long as you know what to listen for, I find that you can use any type. Getting a nice steth could help when listening to Lung sounds.

Better safe better safe then sorry. I agree with ravermedic you do need to be on sceane but you can bag someone if you suspect some thing

God Bless them No one said that this job is easy. We all know that there are risks. Taking ricks is why we are others don't do this job. My heart goes out to them. They will be missed. I had a brother that was an EMT on sceane. Rest in Peace my fellow brothers you will be missed.

I agree with that. IF you can't do basic Pt assesment and effective BLS skills you have no buisness doing ALS skills. There are too many EMTs and go to Medic school without mastering the simple basic and fail out their first day of pratical because they aren't good EMTs.

PDA's Love them We all live them here in San Diego. THey are the best. This job is mostly paper work anyways and this cuts that in half. On some of the PDA's you can get PT history for the base hospital. And when fire shows up you can wirelessly transfer all your info to theirs. I am a fan...

Really? The national test was a joke. I thought that final for the class was the hard test. The national test on the computer was easy. At least was my experence. Anyways we are all on the same team. Enjoy your EMS life. You will love it.
