Is an ET Tube Really ALS?

Okay, and that's perfectly fine. I respect your opinion as a paramedic. However, I follow the protocols set by my squad medical director who just so happens to be an MD that doesn't have any issues with it.^_^

Is an ET Tube Really ALS?

I understand what you all are saying, and truth be told I don't disagree with you! Typically when someone needs intubated they are to the point where a lack of action would do more harm. If someone is pulseless/apneic then they are at a critical low point. If you are unable to establish an...

    Out of state - L&S

Hey guys, I'm going to be taking a trip to New Jersey here in the next few days. I live in WV and have permits through the state fire marshall and EMS office. I have one window light and two in my grille (all are clear looking until they are turned on - as they are LEDs). Is it legal for me...

Is an ET Tube Really ALS?

It is BLS in some states/per the national standards... When I run on the squad in Ohio (as I frequently do), I can intubate using an ET tube as an EMT-basic.

Such as, rest time in between, amount of weight used, number of sets, number of exercises or go with a different routine. The trainer probably has you on...

If you could have anything you want on your ambulance

I would want to never have a need to use a band-aid. :glare: As far as what to ADD: I'd say a scoop stretcher would be nice! Either that or "insta-medic" - medic in a can!

    A rear window light

Nice. I can think of various situations where these would come in handy. I just wonder what the legality regarding any flashing light in a vehicle is. ^_^

Having Trouble Passing NREMT-B - Suggestions?

Just don't leave anything up in the air. Think of questions to yourself, and if you don't have the answer - find it! The more you understand the more prepared you will be. Understanding is, in my opinion, the absolute key to passing the NREMT exam.

    Treatment for flail chest

Oops, I phrased that wrong. It's our company that requires PHTLS, BTLS, etc before being hired. It has nothing to do with getting your card.

    CPR Card

I would suggest retaking the BCLS course... We are required to retake it every six months at my company.
