I've already started reading books on anatomy (good thing I like big words! ;)) and other EMS-related topics. I review with my sis and she says I'm driving her crazy! Lol. :)
I just turned 16. I've looked into all the EMS agencies near me and none of them have EMR/CFR courses for minors, that I've been able to find (or not find? Lol. :)) :/
I'm trusting God to help me handle disturbing things, otherwise I guess that's how He'll show me I shouldn't be an EMT.
Thanks for everybody's input. :)
Is there anybody out there who used to feel really queasy and lightheaded and all that when they saw blood, but then got over it?
I've never seen anything worse than somebody's hand covered in blood, and I was fine with that, but sometimes when I see even just a minor cut, my stomach lurches...
Just got my AHA 'BLS for Healthcare Providers' certification!
For the part of Florida I'm in that's real basic - means I can do CPR and use an AED. The instructor (who was an EMT-P; he did a great job teaching us) also showed us how to (try to, at least) stop choking.
One more step towards me...
I'm totally into anything that has to do with helping people, especially medically. :) Looking to take a local CERT course and hoping that'll open some doors...
