    BLS for Healthcare Providers

I've already started reading books on anatomy (good thing I like big words! ;)) and other EMS-related topics. I review with my sis and she says I'm driving her crazy! Lol. :)

    BLS for Healthcare Providers

I just turned 16. I've looked into all the EMS agencies near me and none of them have EMR/CFR courses for minors, that I've been able to find (or not find? Lol. :)) :/

    Handling the sight of blood

I'm trusting God to help me handle disturbing things, otherwise I guess that's how He'll show me I shouldn't be an EMT. Thanks for everybody's input. :)

    BLS for Healthcare Providers

I've got a long ways to go before I become an actual First Responder... too young right now. I just took the BLS class to be prepared. :)

    Handling the sight of blood

Is there anybody out there who used to feel really queasy and lightheaded and all that when they saw blood, but then got over it? I've never seen anything worse than somebody's hand covered in blood, and I was fine with that, but sometimes when I see even just a minor cut, my stomach lurches...

    BLS for Healthcare Providers

Just got my AHA 'BLS for Healthcare Providers' certification! For the part of Florida I'm in that's real basic - means I can do CPR and use an AED. The instructor (who was an EMT-P; he did a great job teaching us) also showed us how to (try to, at least) stop choking. One more step towards me...

    The Official EMTLIFE Introduction Thread

I'm homeschooled so that's not an option, sadly. :/ But I am doing what I can to boost me towards EMS. :) <3

    Pharyngeal Airway?

As a missionary, the guy getting this kit will be going to both easy- and hard-access areas, and he has no first aid or other emergency care training as far as I know. I guess I'll tell him: "It's up to you whether you want to get an NPA/OPA, and consider getting a BVM/face mask; get it or not...

    Pharyngeal Airway?

One of my bro-in-laws is getting together a first aid kit for one of my other bro-in-laws who's a missionary in Alaska and he asked me to find out what a pharyngeal airway is and how pertinent it is in first aid. Do any of y'all know? Also, any suggestions for things to put in a first aid kit -...

    What Can I Do Now?

Thanks, y'all! :) Grimes, I'm from the south - can you tell? ;D I asked my local FD if they have any Explorer or Cadet programs, but sadly they don't... I'll have to look into doing a ride-along. Sounds fantastic! :)
