    Venigard/Tegaderm over GSW

I see medics do this for GSW's and stabbings to legs, arms, back, etc. Most of the time they stick, but sometimes (profusely bleeding) they won't hold & we go straight to trauma dressing. My question is, combined with pressure over a dressing, would this hold fairly well? Anyone do the same...

    911 Text Alerts

We run a cell phone system in addition to the pagers right now. They're helpful, but personally I like the pagers better with the way the phones are setup now (for BLS at least). They are fully locked down, no texts/phone calls out except to supervisors and hospitals. That's fine. The annoying...

Work for EMTs and Medics in San Diego?

Yep. They hire as needed, usually every few months. They just finished a EMT hire with ~10 people. From what I've heard (and I'm not knocking any other companies) everyone that comes to RM from another socal company says they like it much better, and even take a $1-2 pay cut to switch. BLS rigs...

Work for EMTs and Medics in San Diego?

Rural Metro/SDMSE runs BLS and ALS rigs. BLS = 2 EMT B's, posted near hospitals and SNF's as needed. ALS = 1 Medic, 1 Bridged EMT, mainly at a fire station, there are a few float units. MR = 1 FF/Medic, 1 Bridged EMT, not sure on these ones. There are a few dual medic rigs, I believe in CSA...

Monster Medic Stretchers The Good, Bad, And Ugly

MM gurneys are really wide too. We had a testing day and the gurneys clipped our legs while sitting the back. We're currently on the stryker H frames in the middle of a gurney change, I hope they don't use this one.

I didn't know uniforms were so expensive!

UPDATE: I found out we only get two shirts/two pants initially. After new hire orientation, we get two more shirts and another pair of pants, plus a sweater. That's about $400 more in gear, so it explains the price gap. Also, they just switched to nomex uniforms this year.

Tru Spec EMS Pants - Navy Blue

These pants are really nice. Unfortunately they are a size too small for me, so I can't use them. They are brand new w/tags still attached. Size S, which will fit a 28-31 waist. Cuffs are unhemmed, so you can adjust to your liking. These 65% polyester, 35% cotton ripstop EMS pants are stain...
