Hey just wondering, I got hired on with AmeriCare in Carson, CA. What are their 24 shifts like? Is there any sleep?

There was an AmeriCare thread on here, but I'll let you look for it. I don't know how helpful it will be to you.

As far what it will be like? I'd imagine like any 24 anywhere. You're given quarters to stay in for the shift, run calls as needed, and sleep when applicable.

Not sure I'd want to work somewhere I felt management wasn't telling me the truth from the get go; call me crazy.
That came out wrong. Not that I don't trust him or management, just that the crews probably know how hard it really is. Plus any job's gunna upsell their position. EMT jobs are hard and a lot of fresh students end up quitting. So they act like everything's hunky dory. I know what I'm getting into tho. Plus I get no sleep as it is anyhow.

Without knowing thing one about the company, I'd be willing to bet youll have shifts where you don't see the base for more than an hour and shifts where you don't turn a wheel unless you go out on a personal detail; and many shades of grey in between.

What the ratio is typically is a question for the company and the division if applicable. I agree if I felt that the company's representative was outright lying to me, I'd decline their offer.

LOL Americare and Sleep I dunno. I know one crew that only had 2 hours of sleep and were doing back to back transfers from Exodus to County...... back and forth back and forth a whole 22 hours lol
