So I'm going to get my AHA CPR instructors cert this weekend... Part of the class is "teaching" something to the rest of the class. Presentation must be 10 mins long, and can be any "style" and as I said can be over anything.

Some of my class mates and I got into a discussion about this and I started thinking about what kinda answers we would get on here... My question is what would you do a presentation on with these requirements?

;)

When I went through my instructors class, I did my presentation on Good Samaritan laws. I talked a little bit about the history of them, some of the more "common" differences from state to state (generally speaking), and what our law actually says. I then had a couple scenarios that were actual court cases, and asked the class to tell me if Indiana's law would have applied or not, and why.

I only had 5 minutes for my topic so I taught why it was necessary that more people be taught CPR. Basically: if the brain starts dying in 4 to 6 minutes and it takes EMS several minutes to be dispatched and respond, the patient that has a sudden death episode is dead.
Dispatcher takes 5 minutes to receive the call and send EMS, EMS takes 10 minutes to arrive, EMS crew takes 2 minutes to get equipment and run inside, EMS crew takes 1 minute to evaluate then start CPR. Almost 20 minutes have elapsed before anything is done and that is on a good day. This is why I wanted to become a CPR instructor to begin my career.
Any of this make sense or is helpful?

Teach your class how to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
