Hello all!

This question is for WA state people that have gone through the licensing process..I was just hired as an EMT and will be completing my DOH application next week, I’ve looked over it and its a bit alarming...

Have you ever been convicted, entered a plea of guilty, no contest, or a similar plea, or had prosecution or a sentence deferred or suspended as an adult or juvenile in any state or jurisdiction?

Note:
If you answered “yes”, you must send certified copies of all court documents related to your criminal history with your application. If you do not provide the documents, your application is incomplete and will not be considered.
To protect the public, the department considers criminal history. A criminal history may not automatically bar you from obtaining a credential. However, failure to report criminal history may result in extra cost to you and the application may be delayed or denied.

In 2007 I got a DUI in the State of TX and have no paperwork about my case whatsoever. As a juvenile I got in a little trouble with possession of marijuana and minor theft but have no idea if these would show up even on an FBI background because I entered some deferment program. Again getting this paperwork would be a pain and I didn’t have to disclose any of this information to my soon-to-be employer because it was never asked. I figure these things wouldn’t keep me from becoming licensed, right? Has anyone been licensed in WA with similar backgrounds?

You need to contact the Washington Department of Health and ask them...or consult a lawyer.
